Overall prognosis for cancer has improved in the last decades thanks to the screening tests that are now performed on the population, leading to early diagnosis and making surgery a sometimes curative strategy, at least in the case of solid tumours.

Things complicate, however, when medical therapies such as chemotherapy or radiotherapy are needed. Some data report positive results in the case of adjuvant therapies, that is treatment after radical surgery, but in clinically-evident conditions – even after surgery – prolonging survival is the only possible aim, except in some anecdotal cases.

How is it possible that the various strategies and technologies used for treating cancer have still such a high failure rate?

One of the possible answers, the one I believe to be the most accurate, is that cancer biology is different than commonly accepted. Molecular biology studies clearly show that this “disease” derives from a stem cell that suffered some “damage” and transferred it to the tissue.

This new way to look at the “disease” requires very different therapeutic approaches from the current ones. To try and defeat cancer once and for all, we need to understand its biological language and act accordingly. First, I carry out a molecular study of the diseased tissue, using appropriate techniques, then I analyse the synergies and algorithmic results of drug molecule combinations in consideration of the diseased molecular structures and proceed to create a therapy designed to condition the cancerous stem cell and activate a functional correction.

This is accompanied by an endocrine metabolic study aimed at correcting well-known changes induced by cancer in the diseased organism. In some special cases I also apply predictive tests. The above without hospitalisation and with minimal effect on the patient's quality of life - because therapy cannot be worse than the illness.
